This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, when we disclose it, and the choices and rights that may be available to you.
NoYapYap is currently operated by an individual based in Maryland, United States. The operator may in the future transfer operation of the Service to a limited liability company or other business entity.
When you create a NoYapYap account, we collect information including:
Passwords are not stored in plaintext. They are processed and stored using password hashing through our authentication system.
An account is currently required to use the Service.
NoYapYap allows users to record or upload audio containing speech.
We may store:
Audio recordings are retained so users can access and review their previous speaking exercises.
Unless you delete the recording, related exercise, or your account, recordings may be retained indefinitely.
We generate and store transcripts of submitted speech recordings.
Transcripts may be associated with your account and retained as part of your exercise history until you delete the applicable content or your account.
NoYapYap analyzes recordings to provide feedback about speaking performance.
Information generated from this analysis may include:
These measurements are used to analyze speech and help users improve their speaking and communication skills.
NoYapYap analyzes characteristics contained in a user's voice for the purpose of evaluating speech and public-speaking performance.
Voice measurements are used for speech analysis and coaching purposes rather than biometric identification.
We use information collected through NoYapYap to:
We may also use information where necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and security of NoYapYap, our users, or others.
NoYapYap uses automated software and machine-learning technology to process speech.
Speech transcription is currently performed using Faster-Whisper models operated by NoYapYap on cloud GPU infrastructure .
Audio is not submitted to the OpenAI API for transcription.
Our transcription models generate text from your recording. Additional software analyzes the recording and transcript to calculate metrics such as speaking rate, pitch characteristics, pauses, vocabulary characteristics, filler words, expressiveness, and other speech-performance measurements.
Some scores and recommendations provided by NoYapYap are generated automatically from these measurements.
These results are intended as speech-improvement and educational feedback. They should not be interpreted as objective determinations about a person's intelligence, personality, health, employability, or other personal characteristics.
We do not currently use users' personal audio recordings, transcripts, or speech-analysis information to train our speech-recognition machine-learning models.
We may use de-identified or aggregated information derived from speeches to:
Where information is used for these purposes, we seek to remove or separate direct account identifiers where appropriate.
We may also create aggregate statistics such as average speaking speeds, average filler-word usage, score distributions, or similar statistics across groups of users.
We do not sell these statistics in a manner intended to identify individual users.
NoYapYap uses third-party infrastructure providers to operate the Service.
These providers may process information on our behalf only as necessary to provide infrastructure and related services.
